Change in the place of incorporation and headquarters of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited (HBME).
HBME is currently incorporated and has its head office located in Jersey, Channel Islands, and is currently lead regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC). HBME is also locally regulated in each of the countries in which it operates by the country’s Central Bank and its other regulators.
HBME intends to move its place of incorporation and head office to the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), following which it will become lead regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (the Migration). HBME will remain locally regulated in each of the countries in which it operates by the country’s Central Bank and its other regulators. As part of the Migration process, HBME is required to contact all of its creditors (which includes its customers) to advise them that it intends to make an application to the JFSC to seek “continuance” of HBME as a company in the DIFC (the Migration Application) and we are therefore writing to you to fulfill this requirement.
Continuance means that HBME will continue to operate as a company as if it had always been a DIFC company and therefore all of your banking arrangements and services will continue uninterrupted and unchanged as they are today.
Subject to regulatory approvals, HBME intends to complete the Migration during 2016. We will confirm the date of the Migration closer to the time by publishing an announcement on our website. For more information on the Migration,
