KYC CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME WORKSHOP

TARGET AUDIENCE:      

This AML/CFT training is especially designed for Customer Due Diligence analysts and Team Leaders. It is also very relevant for Customer Support staff, Risk Management analysts and AML Compliance officers

COURSE OBJECTIVES:               

At the end of the training, participants be able to:

  • Coherently discuss the global social context of financial economic crime;
  • Understand the international regulatory AML/CTF framework;
  • Explain the significance of KYC in the context of AML/CTF;
  • Apply the Bank’s standards, procedures and tooling;
  • Apply CDD skills in the context of client types, banking products and services;
  • Demonstrate awareness of suspicious KYC situations/red flags;
  • Communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external KYC stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate KYC skills by successfully completing the knowledge and awareness assessment.

TOPICS:       

Using presentations, group assignments and case study analyses the following topics are addressed:

  • Basic CDD principles and techniques;
  • AML risk factors and red flags;
  • The bank’s AML/CFT policy, standards and risk appetite;
  • A deep dive on a number of wholesale bank-specific topics such as correspondent banking, trade-based money laundering, cash and new payment technology, corporate structures/funds/trusts, etc;
  • Internal and external KYC tools for information, investigation and client data;
  • Soft skills, such as communication and negotiation skills

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

 

Mostly face-to-face, classroom sessions in groups of approximately 15 to 20 participants to promote debates in analysing relevant cases. This enhances the learning process, team-working and communication skills. 

TESTING METHODOLOGY

For efficiency and quality of reporting we advise using Internet enabled technology for testing. KYC knowledge will be tested by means of an individual, secured multiple-choice scoring tool. To assess AMLawareness we will use the unique i-KYC developed ‘serious gaming’ tool called “Talent Act AML” and its customisable management reporting capability. Communication and negotiation skills will be tested throughout the programme.
